Basic Training For Dogs
All of our basic training is done individually, and is
customized for you and your dog.
Our Basic Training can take place at our beautiful outdoor training facility (in the spring, summer and fall) or at your home and surrounding area. Winter training takes place at your own residence.
Cost for six classes outdoors at our facility (first class without dog): $90
Cost for 3 - 1 & 1/2 hour individual in-your-home classes, scheduled every two weeks (six week course). An evaluation is included.
at your residence: $120
Payment is due when registering, before the first class.
**During the training sessions you will be doing a good amount of "homework" as well as training during class. There will be a test of the dog's knowledge at the last class in order to see the improvement and the connection between you and your dog. You are paying to learn how to train your dog, so we try to make sure (as much as we are able) that a trained dog is the result.**

All registrants to individual classes or workshops must attend our evaluation/orientation.
You will need to bring proof of your dog's vaccinations. The orientation is conducted WITHOUT
your dog at your home or ours. At orientation you will meet us, learn about dog training
and get your homework for the first week so you can be prepared for our next meeting.
At Skypilot we offer dog training that is fun and useful and includes the following depending on what you want and need your dog to learn:
- standard "cues" such as sit, come, down, stay, name recognition, leave it
- teaching a dog to got to a "Spot" and stay there until released.
- loose leash walking
- heel - in certain situations
- wait
- off leash work
- teaching a dog to go to a "crate"
- basic agility - jumping, tunnel, weaves
- retrieving
- tricks
If your dog is registered with the CKC or ASCA (a performance number from one or the other can be obtained readily), we can title your dog in obedience for you or help you train your dog to do it. A title in obedience is a nice achievement for your effort.
