The K9 Hair Hut

We do all-breed grooming in our K9 Hair Hut for clients from all over Manitoba and parts of Alberta.

We currently have a one week waiting list for grooming.

Anne learned to groom by showing her Australian Shepherds in conformation, which requires extensive grooming, and taking a couple of grooming clinics. The skill required to groom dogs combined with a training background makes the grooming experience positive for dogs that come to us for grooming.

Our Grooming Etiquette

When clients bring their dogs to us for grooming, they can be assured that their pet will be treated with the utmost respect. We do not correct dogs on the grooming table or yell at or shake a dog if she is unhappy about being groomed and "misbehaving". All this means is that a dog has not been properly conditioned to accept grooming and must be trained to do so.

Because we are a member of Doggone Safe, we know

the proper procedures to use when a dog presents himself as if he were going to bite.

Dogs that are extremely uncomfortable being grooming are groomed as far as possible and then sent home with instructions for the owner to work with the dog at home to desensitize the dog to grooming. We use treats and clickers to do this and no other method. We will not force a dog to be groomed if it is excessively nervous.
